Knauf Insulation
Knauf Insulation mineral wool products made with ECOSE Technology® benefit from a no added formaldehyde binder, which is up to 70% less energy intensive than traditional binders and is made from rapidly renewable bio-based materials instead of petroleum-based chemicals. The technology has been developed for Knauf Insulation’s glass and rock mineral wool products, enhancing their environmental credentials without affecting the thermal, acoustic or fire performance. Insulation products made with ECOSE Technology® contain no dye or artificial colours.
Ceiling Rolls (Loft Rolls) are Glass Mineral Wool rolls that have a Euroclass A1 non-combustible reaction to fire rating and are manufactured using our revolutionary ECOSE® technology. Rolls are available as full width (1200mm) or in Combicut variants. Combi-cut rolls have partially cut perforations, allowing ease of separation so that each roll can be used in joists at 760mm centres (by using 1 x 800mm or 2 x 400mm widths) or split in half to be used in 600mm joist centres. They can also be used unsplit as full 1200mm widths. Our advanced compression packaging technology ensures more insulation per pack, saving on transportation, storage space and reducing the amount of handling.
Durability
Ceiling Roll (Loft Roll) is odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.
Application
Ceiling Roll (Loft Roll) is primarily used for the thermal insulation of pitched roofs at ceiling level. When used at ceiling level it is usually laid in one or two layers, with the first layer between the joists and the second layer over and at right angles to the joists.
Standards
Ceiling Roll (Loft Roll) is manufactured in factories that are certified by Bureau Veritas to the following management system standards: EN 50001 Energy Management Systems, OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 14001
Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. These factories also produce materials compliant with the European product standard for insulation materials EN 13162. Environmental Ceiling Roll (Loft Roll) represents no known threat to the environment and has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential.
Vapour resistivity
Ceiling Roll (Loft Roll) offers negligible resistance to the passage of water vapour and has a vapour resistivity of 5.00MNs/g.m.
Handling and storage Ceiling Roll (Loft Roll) is easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size, where necessary. It is supplied in polythene packs which are designed for short term protection only. For longer term protection on site, the product should be stored either indoors, or under cover and off the ground. Ceiling Roll should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
